We’ve all done it. The carpet is transformed from a piece of modern art to a masterpiece in a matter of seconds more about the author. Or perhaps the kids have decided to play Picasso using their juice boxes. Be calm before you go into panic mode. Carpet Cleaning Northern Beaches is experienced and can offer some tips for emergency carpet cleaning to deal with spills and accidents. Get ready to save your carpet!
1. Act Quickly, But Don’t Rush (! ):
Speed is your friend when it comes to dealing with recent spills. But be careful, as a hasty movement can spread the stain. Use a clean paper towel or cloth to gently blot, but not rub, the spill. Work your way inwards.
2. Your Secret Weapon is Club Soda:
Your carpet might be the best friend of yours when it comes time to clean up wine or beer spills. With a piece of cloth, blot the stain using club soda. If that doesn’t work you can spray the mixture of club soda and white vinegar on the stain and let it sit there for about 10-15 minutes before blotting it.
3. Shaving cream, really? :
White shaving cream, whether you believe it or not can be used to remove carpet stains. The shaving cream should be applied directly on the stain. Allow it to sit for around 30 minutes. Once the shaving cream has set, use a dry towel to wipe away any remaining residue. Then spray one part vinegar and one part water on the surface, then wipe it away with a clean cloth.
4. Freeze-Dried Gum:
A stepped-on piece of gum can cause a lot of pain. Grab some ice from your refrigerator to remove gum. The gum should be frozen for 30 seconds. Once the gum has frozen, you can lift it up with a teaspoon.
5. Dish detergent for Grease
Greasy stains can be difficult to remove. Dishwashing detergent and water in a small cup can help cut through the grease. Spray on the solution and then blot.
6. Iron Out Wax:
Candle wax on carpet? No worries. Warm up your iron by placing a towel over it. Butter knife to scrape the wax off.
